Ciphers, 2024-
Ciphers (working title) encompasses a series of works combining assorted techniques and lines of inquiry that will result in the completed first draft of a new manuscript.
The artist as desultory cipher observes the curator as parasitic cipher and from there a narrative unfolds and unravels as both polemical and psychological detective fiction. Tracing the object of my investigation north from London to the Barents Sea, I developed a collection of preliminary writings, found object, sound and video recordings, alongside other ephemera in building toward the creation of a novel, which I am currently writing.
